If marketing feels “too expensive,” you’re not ready for growth.

I see this pattern across many industries and company sizes.

The first one is simple:
Clients who want results but aren’t ready to invest are not ready to work with an agency.

Small businesses that have never invested in marketing will always feel like any budget is too expensive. They’ll try to squeeze more, shorten timelines, and expect miracles.

Marketing takes time.

When results don’t come instantly, they leave, usually right after they finally start to understand what direction they should be moving in.

Bigger companies have a different problem.
They know they need to invest, but they don’t trust new ways of doing things.

Spending big money on TV, billboards, or broad awareness feels “safe” to them, even when no one is really watching anymore.

But when it comes to performance ads, testing, or digital experimentation, it’s “too expensive.” So budgets stay small, results stay limited, and disappointment is inevitable.

And when things don’t work, someone has to be blamed.

Here’s the reality many need to learn:
Hiring an agency with a serious team and not investing in ads is like getting dressed up for hours and then staying home, hoping the party will magically knock on your door.

Marketing without investment is wishful thinking.

If you’re not prepared to invest consistently and long enough to learn what works, don’t outsource growth. No agency can compensate for that.
