What It Really Takes to Build a Business
This conversation will explore what it really takes to build a business. Not only the successes people see from the outside, but the decisions, persistence, and mindset that shape the journey behind the scenes.
Our speaker is an entrepreneur who believes that lasting success is created through disciplined strategy and constant evolution. As the co-owner of Gamma Design and Eon Eden Marketing, he leads businesses that connect traditional production with modern technology. His focus is on building sustainable systems and strong teams that can grow and deliver results for both local businesses and international e-commerce markets.
But long before leading companies, his story began in a much simpler way.
The Beginning: A Computer, Curiosity, and Late Nights
In 2001, while living in the United States, he worked two jobs as a waiter. With his first paycheck, he bought a computer. He did not have a proper desk at the time, so the monitor box became his table. At night, after long shifts, he sat in front of that computer and taught himself how websites were built.
Not long after, an unexpected opportunity appeared. Through a university job listing posted at a faculty that had not accepted him, he connected with a business owner. Together they launched an online store selling hand-carved wooden figures. Customers could order and pay online while the products were packed and shipped from a basement. This was back in 2002.
A year later he returned to Macedonia and launched one of the country’s early e-commerce initiatives. The idea was ahead of its time and the market was not ready yet.
Still, the experience left an important lesson that continues to guide his work today. Building a business is not about having perfect conditions. What matters most is vision, persistence, and the courage to keep learning along the way.
Today, one of the ways he helps businesses grow is by helping founders see the potential they sometimes overlook themselves.
When you work closely on something for a long time, it can be difficult to step back and recognize how much bigger it could become. A fresh perspective, combined with an understanding of global trends, can open entirely new directions for growth.
The Power of the Right Team
Another lesson he believes strongly in is the power of building the right team. Vision alone is never enough. Great ideas need people who are passionate about execution, details, and processes.
The strongest teams are not made of people who think the same way. They are built from complementary strengths that bring a strategy to life.
Finding those people and creating an environment where they feel motivated to stay and grow together is one of the biggest challenges in business. But it is also one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
